7 Body Treatments You Can Do at Home!

Girls, Here Are 7 Body Treatments You Can Do at Home!

During the period of physical distancing and self-quarantine due to the current Corona virus pandemic, one of the routines we miss the most is caring for our bodies at our favorite spa or salon, right? It feels like we can't wait for this crisis to pass and create a body care list that we have written on our respective bucket lists. But, why wait when we can do it right now? While hoping for the best, we can do some kinds of body care at home, you know. Although the results may not be as satisfying as the salon subscription, they are worth a try. Here are some body treatments that we can do yourself at home:

1. Steam Face:

Steam, aka steaming facial skin, has the benefit of opening pores in a natural way so that it can remove piles of dirt, oil, and dead skin cells that cause acne and blackheads that have accumulated in the layers of facial skin. The warm steam also helps improve blood flow circulation to facial skin, hydrates, and increases collagen production which keeps our facial skin looking radiant and youthful.

To do this treatment at home, we just need to prepare enough warm water (about 4 to 6 cups) into a container like a large bowl then drop in aromatherapy oil, then face our faces on it for a few minutes. So that the steam is more concentrated, we can cover our heads with a towel. Another way is to dip a clean towel in warm water until it is absorbent and then place it on our faces while lying down. In addition to clear water, you can try using tea water that is rich in antioxidants and choose various aromatherapy oils such as chamomile, lavender, eucalyptus, and orange.

2. Face masks:

Face masks, whether in the form of creams or facial masks, may have been part of our routine at home before. What, though, if our supplies run out and maybe we want to save a little? Well, we can take advantage of existing materials at home. Some of the recommended facial mask recipes include:

Oatmeal Mask

Scrubs are also a treatment that is easy to do at home because there are so many home scrub products, aka body scrubs on the market. But again, if you don't want to be wasteful, we can take advantage of several ingredients in the kitchen, from granulated sugar, salt, coffee powder, and other ingredients that are mixed evenly to form a scrub. One recipe that you can try is a lemon and sugar scrub that makes your skin feel fresh. All you need is the oil of your choice, such as coconut oil or olive oil, sugar, lemon juice (either straight or concentrated) mixed in the right amount to make it look like the scrub you usually use. Why lemon? Apart from its fresh aroma, lemon also has antibacterial properties and lightens the skin. However, you can also experiment with other natural ingredients according to your taste.

4. Eye Mask:

In this Work From Home period, staring at a laptop screen all day even late at night can make you have panda eyes or black eye bags that make our faces look fresher and seem older. A simple treatment that we can do at home is to compress the eye area with two tea bags that have been cooled in the refrigerator for about 10 to 20 minutes. Apart from relaxing our eyes, the antioxidant content in tea can also fight irritation, dark circles, puffiness, and red eyes.

5. Hair Mask:

If shampoo and conditioner are still not optimal, there are several hair mask recipes that you can make yourself and adjust to your hair problem.

Dry hair: Mix one teaspoon of honey, one egg, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a small bowl until evenly distributed then rub evenly into hair and let stand for 30 to 40 minutes before rinsing clean.

Dandruff: Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil, four teaspoons of granulated sugar, five drops of aromatherapy oil, two drops of tea oil evenly. Use your fingers and gently massage into the moistened scalp for 1 to 3 minutes. Tie your hair or use a shower cap, then rinse clean at the end of your shower.

Oily hair: Mix one egg white with the juice of half a lemon, rub evenly into hair from root to tip and let stand for 30 minutes to an hour, then rinse with warm water.

You don't have to go to a salon to do a foot spa, you can prepare it yourself by as simple as soaking your feet in warm water mixed with salt for 10 minutes. But if you want something extra and make you remember your favorite salon, you can add some clean pebbles to the bowl as a reflexology tool to massage the soles of your feet, mix in a few drops of your favorite aromatherapy oil or fresh flowers like roses and jasmine. Soak your feet for about 15 to 20 minutes while relaxing. Oh yes, it is also important to build a relaxed mood like in a spa by listening to calming songs and aromatherapy candles. Wow, it's guaranteed that you will really relax and feel refreshed afterwards.

Chapped lips do interfere with your appearance and don't just be at home so you don't pay attention to this, babes! Exfoliate your lips about once or twice a week to keep your lips supple, soft, and of course healthy. A lip exfoliating recipe that you can do at home is a mixture of one teaspoon of honey with two teaspoons of sugar which is gently massaged and rubbed evenly on the lips and let stand for about 10 minutes then rinsed clean. Another way is to apply your favorite lip balm to the lips thick enough then with a clean toothbrush gently massage in circular motions.
